10.5 Xavier Photos

Here is our home!

So here are the photos when we did our first viewing in March/April.

The only piece of furniture was that sad sofa. Our entrance/living room from the stairs. Oh, the curtains were full of holes!

Our kitchen with the dated oak cupboards that they let go black. They are ruined due to lack of cleaning with all the grease and dirt. We have to paint or sand and refinish. The pull out drawers are cool though. Oh and all the kitchen handles were plastic knobs that screwed in from the front! The screw head was the decorative feature. *shudders*

And don't get me started on the bathroom.
So why did we buy? It is because of this...

1/3 of an acre smack dab in the middle of Town. Six times larger than the standard small Town lot.

However there is plenty to fix up with this 'yard'.

Next I'll show some of the approvements we have been making.

Our New Home

So way back in June Todd and I bought a house.

Yes, a building that not only has four walls, ceiling and floor suspended in mid air but a whole building complete with basement, 3 bed rooms plus a side student apartment.  It is quite a change from the condo (that we also continue to own).

I have been still looking for work in Town but haven't found anything so until then I will be in the City.

I hope to revitalize this blog by showing some of the vast improvements we made to this neglected home. (It was inhabitant by a series of 'not fussy' families that lead to horribly scratched floors, ruined oak cupboards, almond coloured bathrooms, blah paint, unfinished projects and a student apartment that has neither closets or cupboards).  I didn't even have a chance to talk about the outside.

So stay tune to the adventures of Meag, as she wields her paintbrush of cleanliness (this will make sense later) as she tackles the house while Todd labours away outside.  My summer weekends have been eaten up by this house.
